Face Care
Our poor faces have to take everything that the elements throw at them. In summer faces are baked and dried under the hot sun. In winter the cold nips at our cheeks, turning them red and bringing out dryness and capillary lines. All year round the action of wind scours and dries and sores. Add in natural signs of aging from laughter lines to frown furrows and it is no wonder that the traditional image of an old face is something not too different from a shrivelled apple.
Luckily the cosmetic companies have come to our rescue with a whole host of products designed to help us look after our faces and keep our beauty. Ignoring soap and cosmetics designed to care for skin these skincare products will help us to care for faces throughout our lives.
Up until teenager hood our faces pretty much take care of themselves. As long as we wash them regularly and smother them in sun tan lotion our baby soft skin generally stays in good condition. It is when we hit puberty that problems start. Faced with oily skin, spots or sudden eczema attacks our skin suddenly needs help. Whilst natural skin care such as drinking plenty of water and eating a balanced diet can go some way towards helping, most teenagers need to cal on face care products at some stage.
Controlling spots and oily skin is at best a two stage process. Deep cleansing washes will help to unclog pores and keep spots at bay. For those with developed acne, as an alternative try an antibacterial wash which is designed for the face to help to clear bacteria and reduce infections. During the day facial cleansing wipes can help to reduce oil levels and keep pores clear. For instant relief there are also various spot treatments available which are designed to conceal and clear spot breakouts.
For those men with sensitive faces, using a good face moisturiser after showering or washing can be beneficial. Products such as Nivea for Men or any one of a number of aftershave balms will help to soothe and moisturise male faces. Using a good after shave lotion will also help to tighten skin after shaving. This can minimise enlarged pores and help the face to remain in good condition.
The secret to keeping faces looking good is partly to maintain skin care throughout our lives. A face that has been neglected for 60 years might not respond as well to treatment as one which has been moisturised every day. Luckily cosmetic companies such as Olay, Garnier, Nivea and RoC have all brought out ranges of beauty products to look after our faces no matter what our age. From simple moisturisers to anti wrinkle cream, day creams to intensive night creams we have no excuse for not choosing a face care product which will suit our needs.
When looking after our faces, one area that we need to take particular care of is around the eyes. Tired eyes can develop shadows or bags spoiling the look of otherwise plump, moisture filled, glowing skin. Companies such as Garnier and Simple have invested in developing eye cream products to help them look clear and fresh.
