Is cream or body lotion right for me?

The main difference between cream and body lotion is that a cream is usually richer and denser than a body lotion and often contains an added oily compound for a more concentrated moisturising experience.

Moisturiser lotions are made of oil and water – they are lighter, less greasy and more quickly absorbed.

We recommend having both creams and body lotions in your bathroom cabinet. Lotions are cool and soothing and so perfect for moisturising large areas.

Lotions in the Semichem body lotion range include: Nivea Lotion for Normal Skin and Vaseline Essential Moisturiser Lotion.

Creams are the best for more intense moisturising or smaller areas – they are richer and more dense than a body lotion.

Creams in the Semichem body care range include:E45 Cream tub which is perfume free and has been allergy screened and tested so is suitable for easing the symptoms of skin conditions such as eczema.

Body Butter

Becoming more and more popular over recent years body butter is another type of skin mosituriser. It is lovely and rich and gives you a relaxed feeling of indulgence and well being when massaged into your skin. It is heavier than the body lotions and creams as it has less water in it – hence its luxurious, velvet-like texture. Here at Semichem we love Hawaiian Tropic Luxury Body Butter – it almost takes you on holiday as you smooth it into your skin due to the natural ingredients with lovely scents such as coconut oil, avocado, shea butter and mango extract.
