Rather than having boxes of perfume lying at home gathering dust, men have realised that the only way to get what the wife or girlfriend really wants is to go shopping with her – and vice versa.

    Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) volunteer crew members and lifeguards in Tyne and Wear are to benefit from a fundraising partnership with Semichem, the region’s leading high street discount health and beauty chain. To celebrate its first year trading in the North East, Semichem has partnered with the RNLI as its charity of the year for 2010 - 2011. The partnership will see over 80 Semichem staff from across the region host special RNLI fundraising events in-store and on the high street during the next 12 months.

Semichem Regional Business Manager, David Thompson, and local store staff visited the Bangor RNLI lifeboat station today (7 January) to see exactly how the funds they raise will be used.

    Semichem, the leading high street discount health & beauty chain, opened a new store within The Precinct shopping centre in Blaydon today (22 October). Semi professional players from Blaydon Rugby Club’s First Team joined Julia McAndrew, store manager and Gail Thornton, Semichem’s regional business manager, to open the doors and welcome shoppers and members of the local community.

    Scotmid Co-operative has been awarded ‘Best Multiple Retailer of the Year’ in the prestigious Scottish Retail Excellence Awards 2010. Scotmid was up against some of the biggest names in UK retailing, including Boots, Asda and Tesco to win the award at a ceremony in Glasgow on Tuesday 19th October 2010.

    Semichem, the leading high street discount health and beauty chain, has relocated to a new store in the Kennedy Centre in Belfast. Lori Moore, Miss Northern Ireland, was on hand to cut the ribbon and welcome the first customers to the store.
