    Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) volunteer crew members and lifeguards in Tyne and Wear are to benefit from a fundraising partnership with Semichem, the region’s leading high street discount health and beauty chain. To celebrate its first year trading in the North East, Semichem has partnered with the RNLI as its charity of the year for 2010 - 2011. The partnership will see over 80 Semichem staff from across the region host special RNLI fundraising events in-store and on the high street during the next 12 months.

Semichem Regional Business Manager, David Thompson, and local store staff visited the Bangor RNLI lifeboat station today (7 January) to see exactly how the funds they raise will be used.

Semi professional players from Blaydon Rugby Club’s First Team joined Julia McAndrew, store manager and Gail Thornton, Semichem’s regional business manager, to open the doors and welcome shoppers and members of the local community.
